The Tangible Imaginative

Date: 14th – 31st January, 2021

Location: Mumbai, India

In January 2021, Michelle Poonwalla showed a series of new artworks as part of The Tangible Imaginative, at Tao Art Gallery, Mumbai. The Tangible Imaginative was part of the Mumbai Gallery Weekend and ran from 14-31, January. Alongside Michelle, the exhibition presented work by leading Indian artists Anwar, Brinda Miller, Jaideep Mehrotra, Kallpana Shah, Kisalay Vora, Ravi Mandlik Revati, Sharma Singh and Shruti Jhaveri.

True to its historically experimental nature, art cannot be confined to any particular platform or medium and The Tangible Imaginative presented work that is both tangible and intangible, allowing the viewer to physically experience and mentally feel the paintings on show.

For the show Michelle presented four new oil on canvas works – Blue Wave, Desert Rose, Forest Flutter and Flutter Fly – which come from the artists Butterfly Series and feature three dimensional, sculptural elements affixed to the canvas.
